Lucas has long been directly involved in the American racing industry through multiple vehicle sponsorships and racing event promotions. E3 Spark Plugs joins the ranks of K&N Engineering, General Tire, Dixie Chopper, Torco Racing Fuels, R&L Carriers, Super Clean, Jim Beam Distillery, and Fatheadz Eyewear as a three year sponsor of over 400 grassroots racing events in 2008. As a member of Team Lucas, E3 Spark Plugs will be an official sponsor of the Lucas Oil Speedway, the Lucas Oil Ranch and the Lucas Oil Stadium.

Given the short interval for combustion, the faster you can get the flame to the piston, the better. Some competitive spark plug designs actually get in the way of the flame kernel as it travels to the combustion area. The E3 DiamondFire design is open at the end, so the spark travels directly toward the fuel/air mixture which maximizes the burn. The result is a faster flame kernel, a more complete combustion, greater power and higher fuel efficiency. Seven years of testing has shown that an edge-to-edge spark significantly improves on antiquated flat-to-flat spark plug designs.

We jumped at the opportunity to join the Team Lucas Oil Racing sponsorship program, as a named affiliate, for hundreds of sanctioned racing events during the 2008 season. In addition, E3 Spark Plugs became an official sponsor of the Lucas Oil Speedway, the Lucas Oil Ranch and the Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts football team.

In February, Lucas Oil's president, Bob Patison, welcomed E3 Spark Plugs on board as one of nine companies that form Team Lucas Oil. The other quality companies included: K&N Engineering, Torco Racing Fuels, Super Clean, Jim Beam, General Tire, R&L Carriers, Fatheadz Eyewear, and Dixie Chopper. E3 was also a major sponsor of the Lucas Oil Motorsports Hour on the Versus channel; the IHBA Drag Boat Series with seven broadcasts on SPEED's sports network; the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series; the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling Series; the World Series Off Road Racing; the ASA Modified West Series; the NASCAR West Racing Series and select Lucas Oil sponsored racing teams.

Lucas Oil Products involvement in multiple racing sanctions provided E3 Spark Plugs an opportunity to support the resurrected AMA Indy Mile, one of the legendary motorcycle flat tracks in American racing. The CEO of Lucas Oil Products, Forrest Lucas, was named Grand Marshall for the Indy Mile AMA Flat Track Grand National hosted by the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Both E3 Spark Plugs and Lucas Oil used 2008 to launch high performance product lines aimed at the motorcycle enthusiasts market. It was announced by founder John Mears of the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League in November that E3 Spark Plugs would be the landmark sponsor of their elite Super Modified Tractor division. Mears praised E3s involvement as a history making boost for the Pro Pulling League's most powerful classs. The Team Lucas series will conduct events in North Carolina, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Indiana, Missouri and New York state. E3 was also named the official spark plug for another competitive dirt racing series, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship.

E3 was a major sponsor for two prominent racing teams in 2008. Kevin Probst's Team Lucas Oil #99 Toyo race truck was consistently a top runner in the World Series of Off Road Racing at every event this year.
